TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In an attempt to counteract critics aimed at Indonesia's debts, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani called for the public to focus on the country's assets rather than debts.
"Our assets are significant. We don't, or rather often culturally forget to announce it," said Minister Sri during the Property Outlook 2019 event held at the Finance Ministry's office on Monday, December 17, 2018.
Moreover, Sri asserted that the country's assets' values are large and has affected numerous sectors in the country's economy. Responding to groups that continue to highlight the country's debts, Sri Mulyani said that "debts have been the focal point of many people."
Sri argued that there are many of Indonesia's state asset that are yet to be managed well due to lack of discipline in maintaining and managing assets to produce added values.
Sri Mulyani firmly said that the country's infrastructure construction can be considered as part of state assets that can generate values.
