Motorcycle Taxi Driver Receives Mini Cooper Prize

17 December 2018 14:51 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Online shopping platform Bukalapak handed over a Mini Cooper to lucky winner Dedi Haryadi. Dedi earlier purchase the car on a special flash sale event during the National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas) with a price of IDR 12,000. Whereas, the car's actual price is IDR 700 million.

Dedi, who works as an online motorcycle taxi driver in Jakarta, participated in Bukalapak's program entitled Serbu Seru Bukalapak during the national online shopping day (Harbolnas) on December 12.

"We handed over the Mini Cooper as a prize from our serbu seru feature. The winner was Dedi from Ciamis. Praise be to God, we have handed over the prize," said Bukalapak CEO Achmad Zaky at the Plaza City View in Jakarta on Monday, December 17, 2018.

After going through several discussions with Dedi, Achmad Zaki said that his team will assist Dedi if the father of three plans to resell his Mini Cooper considering that the prize does not cover the costs of its tax and the vehicle's legal papers.

The Bukalapak CEO said that the Serbu Seru program was started on November 19, and last until December 15. The Program, according to Zaki, has attracted more than 3.5 million participants. In addition to the Mini Cooper, the program also featured other products such as branded bags, a Vespa scooter, and a sports motorcycle as its prize.
