Pertamina to Start Steam Power Plant Construction

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The steam gas power plant project with 1.760 MW capacity, also known as the Independent Power Plant Jawa-1 project, will begin construction stage soon. The project's groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Wednesday, December 19.
The project is undertaken by Pertamina subsidiary, Pertamina Power Indonesia (PPI).
"PPI acts as the leader of a consortium with a number of Japanese companies as signatories including Marubeni Corporation and Sojitz Corporation. We established two project companies, Jawa Satu Power (JSP) and Jawa Satu Regas (JSR)," PPI president director Ginanjar said in a written statement Tempo received on Monday, December 17.
JSP and JSR will carry out the project by building and managing the power plant and the floating storage regasification unit. The electricity generated will be sold to PLN for a contract period of 25 years.
