TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Modest fashion designer Dian Pelangi describes the trend of hijab for 2019.

“Pastel color trend has been shifted. Natural colors such as white, khaki, nude, the cream will be hijab trend for 2019,” said Dian in Kokonut & Curtains by Wakimukudo in Central Jakarta, Wednesday, December 12.

Bright colors, she mentions, such as blue, pink, and yellow will tend to adjust to a natural tone. The pink color for the next year trend is dusty pink that has a touch of faded effect, while the yellow color will be mustard yellow.

The style also becomes simpler. Dian Pelangi notices square-formed headscarf in voile fabrics is the favorite of Indonesian Muslim women. “Hijab style is now getting simpler. Voile square hijab and large sharia hijab is now trending,” she added.

However, a patterned headscarf is still popular. With her new label in collaboration with Barli Asmara dubbed 'Pelangi Asmara', Dian Pelangi deems patterned hijab has a huge market in Indonesia.

“On the first day of our launching event, 2,000 hijabs are sold. It turns out that patterned hijab has a huge market, this is quite something in Indonesia,” Dian Pelangi noted.
