Christmas, New Year: Soekarno - Hatta Airport Passengers Increase

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Soekarno - Hatta International Airport Senior Manager of Branch Communication and Legal, Febri Toga Simatupang, estimated that the peak of passengers` transport during Christmas and 2019 New Year would begin on December 21.
“It is estimated [travelers of] 2018 Christmas and 2019 New Year holidays will increase by around 7 percent compared to 2017 Christmas,” Febri said on Friday, December 14.
On 2017 Christmas and 2018 New Year holidays, it reached 3,511,062 people, while this year, said Febri, it is predicted to increase to 3,739,314 people.
As for the flight, it is estimated to increase by 5 percent. The peak of the increase in passenger, said Febri, is predicted to occur on January 6, 2019, at 223,556 people. The number increased 16 percent from the same day period in 2018, which was 192,726 people.
To welcome the long holiday, the airlines have set 1,393 extra domestic flights and 73 international flights.
