TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Gerindra Jakarta`s Advocacy Agency Yupen Hadi questioned the data of thousands of people with mental disorders in the Jakarta final voter list (DPT) for the 2019 election.
The data is based on the results of the second revision by the General Election Commission (KPU). “There are 2,610 people with mental disorders,” Yupen said when contacted on Thursday night, December 13.
Yupen said Gerindra wanted to know more about the name and address of the voters with mental disorders to conduct a research and match the data.
According to Yupen, in Article 4 (2) of the KPU Regulation No. 11 of 2018 on the Preparation of Voter List in the Country in the Implementation of General Election, governing that individuals with a mental disorder are prohibited to vote.
“The people with mental disorders are actually prohibited to vote. But it is allowed by the KPU,” he said.
According to Yupen, Gerindra and other parties supporting Prabowo will send a letter of request to KPU to open the data.
He added, there was also an addition of 500,000 voters in the Jakarta DPT Second Revision that was questionable.
“We only want the presidential election to be transparent to create a flawless democracy,” Yupen said.
