TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo demanded Social Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita select assistants of Family Hope Program (PKH) to have education abroad.
“Next year, we will massively develop human resources program,” said Jokowi during his speech in an event Jambore Sumber Daya PKH in State Palace, Jakarta, Thursday, December 13.
The plan was followed by applause from audiences, participants of Jambore that amounted to 598 people. Jokowi said the government would provide education for selected PKH assistants in a foreign country. They would also receive training and comparative study in a developed country in a bid to widen their knowledge.
Jokowi pinned hope PKH assistant who would be assigned to overseas would have a high spirit for the country development. “There are 15.6 million beneficiaries of PKH program. We have to have the same spirit to help.”
Social Minister Agus Gumiwang, meanwhile, mentioned that PKH program had reached 10 million beneficiaries in 2018.
To support and succeed the program as mandated by President Jokowi, the ministry deployed a total of 39,700 assistants of the program from 34 provinces and 514 city/districts. “They are the main factor for the success of PKH program to alleviate poverty and social gap in Indonesia,” said Agus.
