TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The state-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) provides extra trains for Christmas and New Year 2019 holidays, which will start operating on December 20.
“A number of extra trains that will be operated are the KA (train) Argo Lawu, KA Argo Dwipangga, KA Lodaya, KA Taksaka, and KA Sancaka,” said PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Public Relations Manager Operational Area (Daop) VI Yogyakarta Eko Budiyanto in Solo, Tuesday, December 11.
He said the extra train operation will be available until January 6, 2019. However, the period might be extended if the demand from the public is still quite high.

According to Eko, KA Argo Lawu and KA Argo Dwipangga will serve Solo-Gambir, Jakarta, each with a capacity of 500 passengers. Meanwhile, KA Lodaya serves Solo-Bandung, KA Taksaka serves Yogyakarta-Gambir, and KA Sancaka serves Solo-Surabaya.
To date, the tickets for each train are still available, said the KAI official.
“We hope the passengers will also actively monitor via online for the availability of the seats because the sales are usually very fast considering that not all buyers buy tickets online, there are those directly come to the station or through mini markets,” Eko said.
