TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno camp wanted to divide the votes of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) in Central Java. The Prabowo-Sandiaga National Campaign Body spokesman, Ferdinand Hutahaean said, it would be done so that the candidate pair number 02 could win the 2019 presidential election.
“That’s right (dividing the vote). There, the red base (PDI-P) dominates, anyone knows the political map. We are targeting 35 to 40 percent,” Ferdinand said in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Sunday, December 9.
The Material and Debate Director of the Prabowo-Sandiaga National Campaign Body Sudirman Said said the relocation of Prabowo-Sandiaga’s campaign headquarters from Jakarta to Central Java will be carried out in January 2019.
“The winning in Central Java has a large influence nationally,” Sudirman said through written statement received by Tempo on Sunday, December 9.
Ferdinand admitted that it would be difficult to win the votes in Central Java, considering that the province was the PDI-P base, which was the bearer party of Joko Widodo or Jokowi, the presidential candidate number 01.
Ferdinand said that the coalition wanted to ensure an absolute victory for Prabowo-Sandiaga. With a vote of 35-40 percent in Central Java, Ferdinand said Prabowo-Sandiaga is expected to get 55 percent of the votes in the 2019 presidential election.
Ferdinand said that the coalition would be aggressively moving at the grassroots to gain the votes in Central Java by gathering together on a scale of 300-500 people, then using a multi-level marketing pattern to attract more masses.
“We hope one person to be able to invite two people, two people invite three people, so the movement will be bigger,” he said.
