TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An earthquake measuring 5 Richter scales hit Lebak Regency, Banten Province this morning, December 7, at 06:43 local time.

“The epicenter of the quake is in the 83 kilometers southwest of Lebak, Banten,” the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency announced on its Twitter account Friday, Dec. 7.

The quake occurred in the sea at the depth of 19 kilometers, precisely at 7.19 degrees south latitude and 105.83 degrees east longitude. BMKG issued there was no potential tsunami.

The tremor, according to BMKG, was lightly felt (on the MMI scale of II-III) in Ratu Port and Pandeglang, West Java.
