TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice Presidential hopeful Sandiaga Uno admits that the money garnered from selling PT Saratoga Investama Sedaya company shares will be used to fund his and Prabowo Subianto`s presidential election campaign.
Sandiaga Uno said that his campaign team has yet obtained funds from major companies, but maintained that the campaign will continue as planned despite the lack of funds.
“I would have to go all out by selling the shares I own to fund the campaign,” said the businessman at Prabowo-Sandiaga team headquarters in Malang City, East Java, on Wednesday, December 5.
He has sold nine Saratoga (SRTG) shares for the past two months, which totals to a value of more than half-a-trillion rupiah. This reduces Sandiaga’s SRTG shares from 702.71 million shares to 672.62 million shares.
Sandiaga Uno, who is partnered with Presidential hopeful Prabowo Subianto is running for the 2019 presidential election against incumbent rival Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin. The pair is backed by several political parties such as the Democrat Party, Gerindra, PAN, and PKS.
