TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian men’s bowling team attained silver in the Men's World Championships 2018 in Hongkong held from November 24 to December 5.
“This is Indonesia’s first medal after three attempts at bowling Men’s World Championship, which is in the past ten years,” said Indonesian bowling team coach Thomas Tan on Monday night.
The men comprise of Hardy Rachmadian, Ryan Leonard Lalisang, and Billy Muhammad Islam. Furthermore, according to coach Thomas, Indonesia’s men’s bowling team is entered in five classes in the championship.
Thomas explained that the team’s participation is to rank itself compared to athletes from countries that will participate in the upcoming SEA Games 2019 and has set the goal of finishing the bowling championship within the top ten.
“Other nations in Southeast Asia such as Singapore sent their best athletes. They entered their complete team and core team despite not knowing if they will participate in the SEA Games 2019,” said bowling coach Thomas.
