TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) would appoint a special team in December 2018 to investigate the unused regional capital injection (PMD) in ten province-owned companies (BUMD). The unused capital amounted to Rp4.4 trillion.
A PDIP Party faction deputy head in Jakarta DPRD, Gembong Warsono, said the council would focus on the discussion about regional regulation starting January 2019, so the special team was expected to start the work immediately.
“In the near time, we will focus on the improvement of BUMD. The idea to form a special team is brought up because there is a case that Jakarta Council did not allow the budget re-allocation [initiated by BUMD]. That’s the principal [reason],” said Gembong in Jakarta DPRD building on Wednesday, November 28.
Among the ten province-owned firms were PT Jakarta Propertindo or Jakpro that had unused PMD worth Rp650 billion. The figure was initially allocated to acquire 49 percent of PT Astratel Nusantara shares from PT PAM Lyonnaise Jaya. Gembong also mentioned all BUMDs that stored the unused funds.
Therefore, a special team was required to investigate the fund flow. “We will form a special team to examine the reallocation of the capital injection. We want to know that because we have to comply with the law. The money must be disbursed based on the initial use,” said the politician of PDIP Party.
