Govt Hopes Damri Becomes Top National Land Transportation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi expected state-owned public transportation company Perum Damri strived to become the top national land transportation that connected all Indonesian regions.
“But, Damri must be willing to do the transformation to win the competition,” said Budi Karya during the 72nd anniversary of Damri in Pool Damri Kemayoran, Jakarta, Monday, November 26.
Budi Karya explained the transformation did not merely aim at gaining revenue, but also stepping up connectivity.

On the same occasion, Perum Damri president director Setia N. Milatia Moemin was upbeat the company was capable of boosting its revenue up to 300 percent by year-end. “Until the third quarter, the revenue reaches Rp21 billion. Hopefully, we can earn a net profit excluding tax above the figure in the next fourth quarter,” said Milatia.
She explained Damri recorded a profit of Rp7 billion in 2017. Due to efficiency, the revenue was strongly increased up to 300 percent.

Damri implemented digital revenue and cost control in a bid to manage its system, Milatia added. “As for the cost control, we collaborate with Pertamina Lubricant from several suppliers.
