Bank Indonesia: November Shows Positive Foreign Investments

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Dody Budi Waluyo announced that foreign investors` trust in November has shown a positive trend and recorded Rp24-25 trillion worth of foreign investments up to November 12.
These investments, he elaborated, comes from numerous sectors such as state bonds (SUN) up to capital market shares. “This is a contrast to October that experienced an outflow,” said Dody in a discussion held in South Jakarta today.
The issue of foreign funds had been the focus of the Finance Ministry’s Directorate General of Financing Management and Risks throughout 2018. The directorate recorded that state securities (SBN) had reduced from Rp10.31 trillion to Rp848.48 trillion until April 26 but with a year to date net buy of Rp16.61 trillion.
Meanwhile, the foreign funds of Rp54.6 trillion outflowed from Indonesia in the capital market from the start of the year to October 2018. However, this number is incomparable to the foreign funds entering Indonesia in the same month that accumulated to Rp22.97 trillion.
