TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution said there were only 25 business sectors that the 100 percent of ownership could be owned by foreign investors or foreign investment (PMA).
Darmin said it would be included in the latest negative investment list (DNI) policy in the 16th policy package.
“Not only PMDN (domestic investment), PMA is at least 51 percent, there are also 49 percent, 67 percent, 75 percent, 90 percent, and 95 percent,” Darmin said in his office on Monday, November 19.
The difference in foreign ownership, according to Darmin, because in the previous regulation, the changes were gradual. “The various roles of foreign capital,” he said.
But in the future, said Darmin, when the government conducted survey and research, the incoming investments were still relatively small. It makes the government make the foreign ownership can be owned 100 percent. “But there had also been foreign ownership earlier,” he said.
Darmin said later in the new regulation of PMA or PMDN, it could be up to 100 percent. “There are 25 business sectors, from various ministries,” Darmin said.
Darmin said that further in relaxation of 2018 DNI, the investment was opened for MSMEs, PMDN and PMA to attract more investment from foreign investors. Because the relaxation of the previous DNI (Presidential Decree 44 of 2016) was considered not optimal.
