Police Threatens to Disband Caliphate Meeting in Sentul

TEMPO.CO, Bogor - The police forbid the organizers of a caliphate meeting to hold the event in Sentul, Bogor Regency. The meeting, claimed to be of an international level, is considered a public disturbance and a threat to the nation`s unity and sovereignty.
Bogor Resort Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Andy M. Dicky said that if the organizers insist on carrying out their plan, the police would not hesitate to disband it.
In anticipation, the police had alerted a thousand officers ready for dispatch.
Andy appealed to the public not to be provoked and take action on their own, and leave the matter to the police.

"We will make sure that the meeting will not happen," he said firmly.
The meeting is scheduled to happen on November 17, with the attendance of some 3,000 participants from all over the world. The meeting agenda is to have discussions and dialogues with the theme "Indonesia as the starting point of the rise of Global Islamic Caliphate".
The organizer of the event had not responded to Tempo's request for a statement. According to the management of Az Zikra Foundation, the organizer or the meeting is Khilafatul Muslimin, and they were the one who asked permission to use the Az Zikra ballroom as a meeting place.
