TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Actors who play and have played as Marvel superheroes expressed their grief over the death of top comic artist Stan Lee. The actors took to social media to deliver respect and pay tribute for the man who created the iconic famous characters and his legacy to pop culture.
Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman said on Twitter that the world has lost a genius. ”Stan Lee was a pioneering force in the superhero universe. I’m proud to have been a small part of his legacy and … to have helped bring one of his characters to life,”
Captain America actor Chris Evans said that there will never be another Stan Lee, who had for decades “provided both young and old with adventure, escape, comfort, confidence, inspiration, strength, friendship and joy.”
Evans ended his tweet exclaiming “Excelsior!” the famous catchphrase Stan Lee used to end his monthly column, ‘ Stan’s Soapbox’ in Marvel's Bullpen Bulletins.
Others like Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds and Hawkeye Jeremy Renner also said their goodbyes and thanks via Twitter.
Legendary comic artist Stan Lee died on Monday at his home in California. His creations have become the world’s most iconic superheroes to ever grace the comic book as well as television and the silver screen, including Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, the X-Men, and many others. He was 95 years old.
