TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the Meikarta project that is allegedly built before the permit was completed. The KPK stated that it had found alleged backdate in a number of Meikarta permit documents.
“Related to that, the KPK is investigating whether the construction has been carried out before the permit is completed or not,” said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah, in his office, Tuesday, November 13.
The document that Febri referred to was a number of recommendation files which are the requirements for issuing Building Permit (IMB), environmental permit, firefighters and others. The anti-graft board presumed the date in the document was made backward or not according to the date of issuance of the document.
The KPK suspected the Meikarta’s permit problems have occurred from the beginning, namely in spatial regulation. According to Febri, with the alleged bribery in the process of permit and indication of backdating, a number of documents can be used by the West Java province administration and Bekasi regency administration to evaluate Meikarta’s permit.
“If the recommendations are not processed correctly, it may cause risky environmental problems such as flooding,” Febri said.
The anti-graft agency has named the Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin and four service officials in Bekasi Regency as the bribery suspects who had facilitated the permit of the Meikarta project. KPK suspected that the bribe was given by Lippo Group Operational Director Billy Sindoro, two consultants, and a Lippo Group employee.
