TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The vice presidential candidate number 01 Ma’ruf Amin promised to try harder to gain votes in West Java because the electability of Jokowi – Ma’ruf Amin was still low in this Pasundan land. From the results of his consolidation in West Java, Ma’ruf is considered as the son of West Java and represents the Pasundan.
“If we lose in West Java, we are embarrassed,” Ma’ruf Amin said at his residence on Jalan Situbondo 12, Jakarta on Monday, November 12.
Ma’ruf said he would be more aggressive in going around in West Java and visiting the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) enclaves. Ma’ruf claimed that structurally, NU has supported him. However, he still had to embrace the cultural NU figures.
Likewise with Jakarta, said Ma’ruf, he has been active in Jakarta since he was young, becoming the NU Executive Board and gaining a position as the Rais Aam (chairman). Ma’ruf Amin is optimistic that he will win in Jakarta. Although, the internal electability survey in Jakarta is also still low.
In the 2014 presidential election, Jokowi did lose the most in numbers in West Java Province from his rival, Prabowo Subianto. While in Jakarta, the survey of Jokowi is also still low because it is predicted that he would still be affected by the case of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok.
