Police`s Operation Zebra Violators Dominated by Motorcyclists

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Throughout Jakarta Metro Jaya Police’s traffic operation dubbed as ‘Operation Zebra 2018’, there were at least 68,117 violators who were ticketed from October 30 to November 7.

“Police issued 11,308 warnings with a total of 79,425 tickets and warnings issued,” said Metro Jaya Police Adj. Grand Commissioner Budiyanto.

The statistic, said Budiyanto, is lower compared to last year’s data during the Operasi Zebra 2017 that saw a total of 95,673 warnings and tickets issued by the police.

The traffic violations that dominated this year’s police operation is mostly from motorcyclists with 44,415 violators, meanwhile, car drivers and other four-wheeled vehicles saw 23,701 violators.

The Operation Zebra is a mass-police operation held simultaneously throughout the country from October 30 to November 12, 2018.
