TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta will invite the selected residents to try the first phase of the MRT.
“We invite the selected residents to join the MRT trial run, so it has not been opened to the public yet; only by invitation,” said Anies Baswedan at the Hotel Indonesia MRT Station, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, November 6.
Anies said they would conduct the simulation of the MRT train with passengers. So far, the company has only tested the MRT infrastructure and the train.

“After January 2019, we'll start the system, with a limited number of passengers,” said the governor.
The MRT, which is planned to operate starting March 2019, will serve the Lebak Bulus - Bundaran HI (Hotel Indonesia roundabout) route with 16 stations.
Today, Anies Baswedan accompanied President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo during the MRT trial run from HI Station to Lebak Bulus Station.
Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, Chairperson of the Jakarta Regional Representative Council (DPRD) Prasetio Edi Marsudi, and PT MRT President Director William Sabandar also participated at the MRT Jakarta trial.
