TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Tourism Ministry is targeting to sell over 4,000 tour packages in the 2018 World Travel Market (WTM). The potential for foreign exchange (forex) revenue is estimated to reach more than Rp3 trillion.
Agustini Rahayu, the ministry's marketing development assistant deputy for Europe, said that in last year's WTM, 3,521 tour packages were sold. The sales figure rose 39.4% from 2016's 2,132 packages.
"This year we are targeting to sell 4,224 tour packages with a potential forex revenue of Rp3.08 trillion," she said as Bisnis.com reported on Monday, November 5.
The 2018 World Travel Market is being held in London from November 5 to 7. Fifty-three travel businesses from Indonesia are participating in the event, including hotels, tour operators, travel agents, and destination management companies (DMC).
