Boeing and Lion Air Management Set to Meet Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Aircraft manufacturer Boeing is set to hold a meeting with Lion Air managements this noon, which is believed to discuss matters regarding the recent fall of the Lion Air flight JT 610 that used the Boeing 737 MAX 8.

“A team from Boeing will be here [on Wednesday] and sit together with us. We have many questions to ask them. I anything wrong considering it’s a fairly new aircraft,” said Lion Air Director of Operations Daniel Putut yesterday.

According to Daniel, Lion Air will not conduct an evaluation for its fleet and hands it completely to the National Transportation Safety Commission (KNKT).

However, they maintained that pilots, operational teams, technical teams, and other related workforces will be evaluated.

Regarding a complete inspection of its Boeing 737 MAX 8, Daniel said that it has been done with results that suggest the fleet are not experiencing any technical issues and has been given the green light to continue its daily operations.

Lion Air’s Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet that went missing is Boeing’s latest fleet in 2018 and had only been purchased by Lion barely three months earlier on August 15.
