TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko `Jokowi` Widodo has today, Oct. 30, inspected debris and goods found by the National Search and Rescue (Basarnas) team from the crash site of Lion Air JT 610 in the waters of Tanjung Karawang, West Java.
The findings consisted of the plane debris and personal goods presumed to belong to the victims’ of the ill-fated plane.
Jokowi inspected the findings in Basarnas Emergency Post in Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta, on Tuesday, accompanied by Basarnas head Muhammad Syaugi and Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi for about 45 minutes.

After the inspection, Jokowi left the post without giving any statement to the reporters in Tanjung Priok. “Today, pak President visits the post to give support for the team,” said Budi Karya.
Budi said Jokowi delivered his appreciation to Basarnas for its preparation in handling the incident. “President also stated his readiness to work for the next week,” he added.
The Lion Air JT 610 crashed on to the waters of Tanjung Karawang on Monday morning, Oct 29. The aircraft boarded 189 passengers and crews had lost contact with the Air Traffic Controller at around 6:30 a.m.
On the second day of the incident, a total of 34 body bags had been sent to the National Police Hospital Kramat Jati, East Jakarta for identification. As of press time, the evacuation team continued to bring cadaver pouches containing victims and aircraft debris to Basarnas post in Tanjung Priok.
