TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice presidential candidate Sandiaga Uno said the declaration of Gerakan Emak-emak dan Anak-anak Minum Susu or Gerakan Emas (movement of mothers and children to drink milk) was not a campaign act.
“It is not a campaign event, but a movement we initiate,” said Sandiaga in BSD area, South Tangerang, Banten, Tuesday, Oct 30.
Sandiaga conveyed the statement in response to the plan of Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) to report Prabowo Subianto and Nur Asia Uno to the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) regarding the declaration event in Klender Stadium, last Wednesday.
PSI suspected Prabowo of violating two points during the event. “Involving children in political acts and conducting a campaign outside the schedule,” said the reporter Manotar Tampubolon to Tempo, Tuesday, Oct 30.
He handed the process to Bawaslu. However, he claimed the event held by his team had followed with the existing regulation.
Sandiaga said children involved in the act as the participants that mostly from lower middle class who could not afford a babysitter or send them to daycare.
Gerakan Emas is a transformation program of Revolusi Putih initiated by Prabowo Subianto which aimed at enhancing public health through a habit of drinking milk.
