TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will probe Lippo Group CEO James Riady as a witness in the alleged bribery case of Meikarta project, today, Tuesday, October 30.
“Tomorrow, the summon will be scheduled on James Riady as a witness to the alleged bribery case for the nine suspects of Meikarta project,” KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said on Monday, October 29.
James is the 35th witness probed in this case. KPK has probed 34 witnesses from Lippo Group, the Bekasi Regency administration and the West Java Provincial administration.

KPK probed James after searching his house on October 18. KPK seized documents, cash, and financial evidence. However, KPK investigators did not seize any evidence from James Riady’s house.
KPK has held the sting operation (OTT) in Bekasi and Surabaya on October 14 and October 15.
After the OTT, KPK set Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin and four Bekasi District service officials as the suspects for allegedly accepting bribes to ease the Meikarta project licensing process.
KPK suspected that the bribe was given by Lippo Group Operational Director Billy Sindoro, the two consultants and one Lippo Group employee.
