TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Central Jakarta Corruption District Court continued the trial of bribery case for the defendant, non-active Jambi governor Zumi Zola today, Oct. 29. Zumi’s attorney Muhammad Farizi confirmed the agenda.
“The trial agenda is an examination on the defendant,” said Farizi via a phone call, Monday, Oct 29.
The judge scheduled the trial today after the previous one (Monday, Oct 22) was canceled since the defendant was sick.
In the trial, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor presented several members of Jambi Regional Legislative Council (DPRD), including Jambi DPRD speaker Chornelis Buston, Jambi DPRD deputy Chumaidi Zadi and Abdurahman Ismail, and several officials in Jambi Public Works and Housing Agency (PUPR).
The anti-graft body suspected Zumi of receiving bribery worth Rp40.44 billion and US$177.300 from partners related to several projects in Jambi provincial administration, former PUPR Agency head Arfan, Apif, and Asrul Pandapotan Sihotang as the treasury of the latter’s campaign team in the Jambi Gubernatorial Election.
KPK also suspected Zumi Zola used the fund to bribe Rp200 million for each member of Jambi Legislative Council members and related stakeholders to expedite the sign of Draft Regional Budget (RAPBD) of Jambi 2017-2018.
