TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Lion Air plane that went missing this morning has been discovered. According to records, the aircraft with tail number JT610 was likely to have crashed into the waters of Karawang, West Java.
The search and rescue team is already heading to the location.
Pangkal Pinang SAR office chief Danang Pandu said they started to look for the plane as soon as there were reports that air traffic controller had lost contact with it.

"The location is confirmed," he said on Monday, October 29.
The Lion Air plane took off from Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta at 06:20 this morning. The plane was supposed to have landed in Pangkal Pinang an hour later, but as of 09:00 local time, there were no signs that it would.
Air traffic controller lost contact with the plane at 06:33, just some 10 minutes after it was airborne.
