TEMPO.CO, Bandung - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said he was still studying the details of the Meikarta project related to the authority of the provincial administration.
“Meikarta administration took place in the leadership of the previous governor. As a new governor, I have not been well-informed about Meikarta, which since the Governor Election, it [administration] became complicated,” he said, Monday, October 22.
According to Ridwan Kamil, from the reports of his subordinates, the recommendation issued had no problem. “In the interim, the provincial staff report, the recommendation for 85 (84.6) hectares was considered to have no problem. But I haven’t held meeting with them all. I will probably summon the Bekasi regency officials, as well as the developer,” he said.
Ridwan Kamil said the West Java provincial administration was not involved. “There is no permit from the provincial administration. It only provides the recommendation, requests from the Bekasi district level 2 administration, whether it is recommended or not. So if the permit issue is revoked, it will be revoked to the provincial administration, in its authority, it’s not like that,” he said.
Regarding Meikarta consumers who asked for certainty about the project, Ridwan Kamil was reluctant to comment. “I don't understand about the consumer. That is between the law of the seller and the buyer,” he said.
The West Java Regional Secretary, Iwa Karniwa, said that the BKPRD institution or the Regional Spatial Planning Coordinating Board had been dissolved, and had been replaced by the TPKRD or the Regional Spatial Coordination Team.
“That is in accordance with the law. Now a new team has been formed. The team has been revised in accordance with the applicable regulations, and is now only meeting once about the mechanism, operational standards and procedures,” he said, Monday, October 22.
The West Java BKPRD was previously led by the deputy governor, Deddy Mizwar. The discussion process for giving recommendations for the Meikarta project was discussed by the BKPRD. The replacement organization, TPKPRD is now led by the Regional Secretary of West Java. Iwa confirmed that Meikarta’s case would later become part of the TPKRD’s work.
“It is not only related to Bekasi regency but also other regencies/cities,” he said.
