TEMPO.CO, Jombang - Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) Educator in Jombang Regency, Solahuddin Wahid or Gus Sholah denied that he supported Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno in the 2019 presidential election after welcoming their visit to his pesantren.

"I accept anyone, Jokowi-Ma'ruf too, we are open. We certainly welcome the visit. I have not made a choice because it is still too early, it is still far and I am not taking sides,” said Gus Sholah in Jombang on Monday, October 23.

Gus Sholah said if he already had a choice, he would not have to convey it to the public. “I have a choice, but it doesn’t need to be conveyed to the community. The Dhuriyah (pesantren family) also has their own choices,” he said.

Prabowo and Sandiaga Uno came to Tebuireng Islamic boarding school on Monday also to visit the graves of the founders of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).

Gus Sholah said that the visit by Prabowo and Sandiaga was already known to the dhuriyah. “As an educational institution, it cannot be a place for campaigning. Prabowo`s visit is not a campaign, because it follows the commemoration of jihad resolution day,” said Gus Sholah.
