TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said his provincial administration would review all the development plans of Meikarta project in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency.
Through his Twitter account @ridwankamil, the governor said he would review all the project plans of about 500 hectares following the alleged bribery case involving Lippo Group and Bekasi provincial administration which had been disclosed earlier by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
“As a new governor, I will immediately conduct a thorough, fair review and study on this project, either the 85 Ha of lands recommended in November 2017 or the plans ahead. Hatur Nuhun (thank you),” said Ridwan Kamil as quoted from his official Twitter account on Monday, Oct 22.

Ridwan Kamil explained Meikarta had proposed the land permit for the first phase of Meikarta project of 143 hectares from the total 500 hectares to Bekasi administration in October 2017. Then, the provincial government issued the recommendation of 85 out of 143 hectares of land in November 2017.
Ridwan Kamil said the internal study conducted by the provincial administration showed that no issue was found on the recommended spatial planning for the 85 hectares of lands. If there was a problem regarding the alleged bribery during the project process brought up, the city administration would support the KPK to reinforce the law as it was such a crime.
Ridwan Kamil further said the instruction to stop and limit the problematic project of the satellite city Meikarta must go through the fair and professional process. “As in the case of Jakarta reclamation project, not all projects are halted. That must be because Jakarta administration has considered it through the adequate and fair legal,” he added.
