TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry has denied the rumors saying that Athletes Village in Kemayoran will be for rent to the public after the 2018 Asian Games event ends.
“It has not been decided for rent since the discussion is ongoing,” said Director General of Housing Provision, Khalawi Abdul Hamid, Friday, October 19.
Khalawi said the Athletes Village is an asset owned by the State Secretariat and the decision on the management is entirely its responsibility. The PUPR was only tasked to construct the buildings for the Asian Games and Asian Para Games.
The budget for the development was Rp3.7 trillion and the revitalization for the Asian Para Games was Rp152,9 billion. The PUPR Ministry handed the Athletes Village to the state secretariat after the Asian Para Games ended.
The Athletes Village in Kemayoran was built to accommodate the athletes who take part in the 2018 Asian Games and Asian Para Games. It has ten towers with a total of 7,426 units, seven towers in C10 totaling 5,494 units and three towers in C2 totaling 1,932 units
