TEMPO.CO, Pekalongan - 15 countries will take part in the Pekan Batik Nusantara (Indonesian Batik Week) event held by the Pekalongan City administration, Central Java, on October 20-24.

The Head of Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Pekalongan City Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises, Tjandrawati, said these countries would take part in the Business Meeting on the main stage, in front of the Batik Museum, on October 20.

The 15 countries are Ukraine, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Armenia, Peru, South Korea, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, Laos, Japan, Bahrain, Belgium, Germany, and Zimbabwe.

Pekalongan City Regional Secretary Sri Ruminingsih said the event would present various exhibitions, such as a tour exhibition, a creative home exhibition of Pekalongan batik, batik hybrid, and a photograph of one decade of batik week.

The booth distribution is as follows: the booth area of the batik masterpiece, handmade and stamp batik, batik and accessories, batik creative products, canting and batik equipment, batik weaving machines and materials, and batik making materials.

The committee also prepared booths for ministries, provinces, districts/cities, handicraft products, and multi-country products, State and Regional owned enterprises, private companies, and trained partners.
