Anies Baswedan on Reclamation: `I don`t Work for Applause`

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the permit revocation for the reclamation islands was based on the law through the recommendation delivered by the North Coast of Jakarta Reclamation Management Coordinating Board. He asserted the decision was in line with the regulation and procedure.
“In this matter, I did not work for applause,” Anies Baswedan told reporters from Koran Tempo and Tempo.co during an exclusive interview in the City Hall, Monday, Oct 15.
Anies Baswedan said he was free from the lawsuit filed by the developer thus far after he removed the permit of 13 reclamation islands.
“If I recklessly revoked the permit, I would be in the State Administrative Court (PTUN) today,” Anies said.
As many as 13 out of 17 reclamation projects in Jakarta Bay had been lifted and canceled by Anies Baswedan on September 26, 2018. It was conducted after the North Coast of Jakarta Reclamation Management Coordinating Board verified all the permits of the islands.
The thirteen islands are A, B, E, I, J, K, M, O, P, Q, H, F, M islands. The permit holders are PT Kapuk Naga Indah, PT Jakarta Propertindo, PT Taman Harapan Indah, PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, and PT Agung Podomoro Land.
While the rest four islands C, D, G, and N that had been reclaimed would be regulated in the Regional Regulation Draft of Spatial Plan for North Coast Strategic Areas (RTRKS) and Plan of Coastal Zoning and Small Islands (RZWP3K), and that the discussion was still afoot.
