2 Civil Servants Suspects of Stray Bullets That Hit DPR Building

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police named two suspects of the stray bullets case that hit the lawmakers or DPR Building Senayan, Jakarta on Monday, Oct 15, for their negligence while practicing shooting in Senayan Shooting Range. They were IAW and RM, civil servants of the Transportation Ministry.
“Both are civil servants in the transportation ministry office,” said police`s general criminal investigation director, Sr. Comr. Nico Afinta in Jakarta, Tuesday, Oct 16. According to Nico, the suspects borrowed Glock 17 and AKAI from the warehouse of the shooting range.
Nico explained the two civil servants were not listed as the member of the Indonesian Shooting and Hunting Association (Perbakin). Jakarta Metro Police was still exploring the reasons the shooting range lend the weapon to the suspect and examining two people with initial A and G as the weapon owner.
Based on the investigation, IAW and RMY were named as the suspect charged with Article 1 (1) of Emergency Law No. 12/1951 with a maximum penalty of 20 years behind bars.
Police confiscated pieces of evidence such as Glock 17, brownish black 919 made in Austria, and three magazines and three boxes of ammunition, as well as a black Austrian-made AKAI Custome with 40 caliber bullet, two magazines and a box of 40 caliber bullet. The stray bullets hit offices of lawmakers Wenny Waraow and Bambang Heri Purnama.
“Two out of four bullets shot ended up to the 13th and 16th floor of DPR building,” Nico concluded.
