TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspected bribes for Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin and several officials in Bekasi regency administration aimed at expediting the permit issuance for the satellite city of Meikarta project.
“There is an indication that the bribe money used to hasten the process of the [project] permit issuance, we are currently investigating it,” said Febri Diansyah, KPK spokesman, in his office, Jakarta, Tuesday, Oct 16.
KPK named Neneng and four officials of Bekasi administration as the suspect of bribery concerning the Meikarta project permit. The four officials were Head of Bekasi Public works and Housing (PUPR) Agency, Jamaludin; Head of Bekasi Fire Department, Sahat MBJ Nahar; Head of Bekasi Capital Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), Dewi Tisnawati; and Head of PUPR’s Spatial Planning, Neneng Rahmi.

They allegedly received commitment fee from Lippo Group operational director Billy Sindoro, consultant Taryudi, and Fitra Djaja Purnama, and employee Henry Jasmen amounted to Rp13 billion for the license of Meikarta project. The four had been named as the suspect.
KPK presumed the agency heads received the bribe money from Billy and friends and delivered it to Bekasi Regent Neneng. The anti-graft body was still identifying the permit process under the management of Bekasi administration. “We are currently exploring detail process of the permit for the first phase of Meikarta project construction,” Febri explained.
