One Suspect of Bribery in Meikarta Project Surrenders to KPK

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Spatial Planning for the Public Works and Public Housing Agency of Bekasi Regency, Neneng Rahmi, surrendered to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday, October 16, at 4:00 a.m. She was one of the suspects in the alleged bribery of the Meikarta project permit that had escaped when the KPK conducted the sting operation.
“NR surrendered to the KPK and was accompanied by her family. Furthermore, an intensive examination will be conducted,” said KPK spokesman, Febri Diansyah, Tuesday, October 16.

Neneng Rahmi was one of nine people who was named as the suspects. KPK also set the suspect to Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin, Head of the Bekasi PUPR Office, Jamaludin, Head of the Fire Department, Sahat MBJ Nahor, Head of the DPMPTSP, Dewi Tisnawati.
KPK suspected that the five Bekasi regency officials received a fee commitment of Rp13 billion related to the management of phase 1 permit for the Meikarta development project. The amount of money that had been realized amounted to Rp 7 billion, received from the Operational Director of Lippo Group Billy Sindoro.
