TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police will question the president of the Indonesian Labor Union Confederation Indonesia (KSPI) Said Iqbal over the Ratna Sarumpaet case, where she lied about being assaulted. Said will undergo questioning at the Jakarta Metro Police today, October 9.
Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said that Said would be questioned this morning at 10:00 local time. He didn’t elaborate further.
Ratna Sarumpaet's case began when she claimed to have been assaulted by several people near Bandung's Husein Sastranegara Airport on September 21. However, the police discovered that it was all a lie after they tracked down the activist's whereabouts during said dates.

Ratna then admitted she told a lie, and confessed that the bruises on her face were the result of a cosmetics surgery at a hospital in Central Jakarta.
The police will be questioning a number of other witnesses. Tomorrow, National Mandate Party's (PAN) patron Amien Rais is scheduled to be questioned. He was summoned to come to the station on October 5, but did not. PAN secretary general Eddy Soeparno said that Amien was busy that day.
