TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Abrina (28) is a mother from Denpasar, Bali, who attended Yogyakarta`s Kustomfest 2018 on her Royal Enfield covering roughly 700 kilometers from her hometown in Denpasar.
Riding motorcycle is her newfound hobby after she was exposed to motorcycles about three years ago. The mother of two said that it’s safe to say that she was starting to get addicted to motorcycles.
“At first I was drawn into riding by my friends at the Royal Enfield community and was lent a motorcycle for me to depart from Bali to Lombok. It turned out to be exhilarating, I eventually started riding on my own with the goal of exploring Indonesia,” said Abrina in Yogyakarta on Friday, October 5.
During the Kustomfest 2018 in Yogyakarta held from October 6-7, she revealed her personal goal of exploring two of Indonesia’s major islands of Java and Sulawesi before she turns 30.
Abrina said that she had prepared her physical strength and her motorcycle’s preparation. Her road trip from Bali to Surabaya took four days but was also eventful as she stopped by fellow motorcycle communities in Surabaya, spending a night at Banyuwangi’s Ijen Crater, and spent two days in Madura.
“It was all exciting, I went to Kawah Wurung in Bondowoso and Ijen Crater with its off-road track, and continued my journey to the beach in Madura. I rode the Royal Enfield Classic 500,” said Abrina enthusiastically.
She rode on a Royal Enfield Himalayan for her trip from Surabaya to Yogyakarta with two other friends, which saw her facing multiple challenging roads consisting of gravel, rocky roads, and even riding through rivers. The greatest part of her story is that she went through it all without falling off of her motorcycle.
