Asian Para Games Opening; Jakarta Applies Traffic Engineering

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta traffic police to implement a traffic engineering in several areas during the opening ceremony of 2018 Asian Para Games at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) stadium, Central Jakarta, today, Oct. 6.
"[The traffic engineering is] done to support the 2018 Asian Para Games opening ceremony," Jakarta traffic police official Adj. Sr. Comr. Budiyanto said in a press release received by Tempo, Friday, Oct. 5.
The games committee informed that the first main performance will start at 7 p.m. Jakarta time at the GBK complex but the initial performances will start at 3 p.m.
Tempo compiled the list of the traffic engineering routes received from the Jakarta traffic police:
Senayan's FX Sudirman or Jalan Pintu 1 gates
The Senayan's gates of FX Sudirman or Jalan Pintu 1 will be closed. Therefore, vehicles from the Senayan Roundabout (Bunderan Senayan) will be diverted to go straight to Semanggi. Meanwhile, the FX Sudirman mall entrance from the Jalan Jenderal Sudirman side will still be opened.
Senayan and Ladogi Fly Over
Vehicles from Semanggi will be diverted to go straight to Slipi, and vice versa. The traffic en routing to Jalan Gerbang Pemuda will be closed.
Jalan Hang Lekir
The traffic flow from Jalan Mustopo heading to Jalan Asia Afrika will be turned right to Jalan Hang Lekir.
T-junction of Jalan Hang Lekir
Vehicles from Jalan Pakubuwono will be diverted to go straight to the Pakubuwono's traffic light, and vice versa.
Patal Senayan Intersection
Tarffic flow from Jalan Patal Senayan 1 heading to Jalan Asia Afrika will be asked to make a U-turn or turn left to Jalan Senayan 2 or Permata Hijau.
Palmerah Traffic Light
Vehicles from Manggala Wanabakti building will be ordered to go straight to Palmerah traffic light heading to Jalan Tentara Pelajar and Permata Hijau.
T-junction of Jalan Tentara Pelajar
Vehicles from Palmerah traffic light will be diverted to go straight to Jalan Tentara Pelajar.
The 2018 Asian Para Games will be held on October 6-13 and participated by 43 countries with a total of 2,800 athletes, 1,800 officials, and 500 local and international media.
