Jokowi Camp Preps more Creative Ads after Viral Khong Guan Ad

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A sub-two minute clip depicting a live action version of the `Khong Guan family` recently made rounds in social media. Khong Guan is a long-time player in the biscuit industry that has been ingrained in the Indonesian culture.
The campaign material by the Jokowi - Ma`ruf team showcased the family discussing Indonesia’s unemployment and poverty rate, which the campaign ad claims had been reduced under Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s administration.
Ipang Wahid, who is the presidential and vice presidential hopeful’s campaign deputy manager, confirmed that the video is indeed a product of his team in order to counter numerous political attacks regarding Indonesia’s economy.
The production of the Khong Guan family campaign advertisement is basically based on Jokowi’s instruction to handcraft campaigns that are creative, smart, and far from hoaxes. The incumbent presidential hopeful also urged the team to put forth ideas, visions, and the government’s achievements in the past four years.
“We must be able to deliver difficult materials in a simple way that is easy to understand. It should be packaged in a way that is entertaining and can eventually be viral,” said Ipang Wahid at Menteng, Jakarta on Wednesday, September 26.
Furthermore, Ipang Wahid said the Jokowi-Ma`ruf camp has prepared other creative campaign ads discussing issues in numerous fields.
