Sri Mulyani, UK Minister John Glen Talks on Economic Ties

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The UK Minister for Economy John Glen visited Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati in the Finance Ministry building, Jakarta, Monday, September 24.
“We have a valuable session with Finance Minister (Sri Mulyani),” Glen said after the meeting.
Glen mentioned Indonesia and the UK have many issues to create ties between both countries. He deemed Indonesia’s economy increasingly develops and prospers.
During the 45-minute meeting, Glen and Sri Mulyani also discussed the issue of economic growth, particularly the possibility on the finance and consumer market posts.

“We share experiences an that we always set eyes to the future, the next generation,” Glen said, touching that he studied how the government could later facilitate the youth to access financial services.
“This is a genuine constructive meeting, and it is an honor for us to visit the Finance Minister of Indonesia today,” Glen added.
Glen expected the UK would further enhance relations with Indonesia and said that Britain's Finance Minister Philip Hammond would meet Sri Mulyani this year. “We want to tighten the ties by establishing a partnership in the economy post,” he concluded.
