6 Attractions to Spend Weekend in Bandung

TEMPO.CO, Bandung - Bandung offers various art and cultural events this weekend, September 22-23, including three art exhibitions in Dago, Bandung Philharmonic orchestra show. Meanwhile, a culinary and music festival is held every weekend in the south of Bandung on Jl. Kopo.

Check out six agenda to spend your weekend in the Paris van Java city:

1. Philharmonic Orchestra Show, Hilton Hotel

Bandung-based orchestra group will present a concert themed Legenda or Legend in Hilton Hotel, Bandung, Sunday, September 23, starting at 19:00 local times. With a conductor maestro Robert Nordling and violinist Michael Hall, they will present repertoire Overture Tragis, Op.81 (Johannes Brahms), and Totentanz among others.

2. Sunaryo Exhibition, Selasar Sunaryo Art Space (SSAS)

The single exhibition dubbed Lawangkala will take place to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Selasar Sunaryo Art Space (SSAS) on September 16 to December 23, which is curated by Agung Hujatnikajennong. Other than the bamboo tunnel and Sunaryo’s paintings, a total of 20 artists` works will be displayed in Bale Tonggoh, SSAS, starting on September 16 until November 4.

3. Septian Harriyago Exhibition, Wot Batu

Curated by Asmudjo J. Irianto, this single exhibition will last for a month from September 7 to October 7, in Wot Batu, Ciburial, Bandung. The event is open on Tuesday-Sunday at 10 a.m until 6 p.m, and the art tour with artists and curators is held on Saturday, September 22.

4. Shifting Exhibition by three artists, Orbital Gallery

The works of three artists Andy Dewantoro, Erik Pauhrizi, and Joko Avianto are exhibited in Orbital Dago since September 14 until October 12. 

5. Bamboo Festival, Main Atrium

Citylink Festival has again established Bamboo Festival in Main Atrium, Jl. Peta No. 241, offering several programs such as bamboo education, bamboo music festival, and bamboo workshop. The event takes place on September 10-30, with various events every day.

6. Kopo Culinary and Music Festival

Kopo Culinary and Music Festival is held every weekend in Miko Mall, Jl. Kopo, Bandung, since February and it will last until December. The event features music contest, magic show, disk jockey, cooking class, food photography, food bazaar, coffee festival, and halal product exhibition.
