BMKG Warns of Storm over Indonesian Areas in the Next 3 Days

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Central Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) warned members of the public to prepare for potential storm and heavy rain striking several regions in Indonesia for the next three days.
BMKG's Deputy of meteorology Mulyono R. Prabowo explained that the tropical storm Mangkhut from Australia that have started to avert from Indonesian regions left a change in weather.
Among other elements, he explained that there are signs of cyclonic circulation from area in the South China Sea and increasing air humidity at the atmosphere along the 1,500 and 3,000 meter altitude. This is what formed and grew rain clouds above several Indonesian regions.

The atmosphere’s dynamic condition could increase the potential of heavy rain with lightning strikes and strong winds along a number of Indonesian regions in the next three days from September 20 – September 22.
Areas that are predicted to experience this storm anomaly are Aceh, Riau, Riau Islands, West Sumatra, Jambi, South Sumatera, Bangka Belitung, Lampung, Banten, Jakarta, West Jawa, Central Jawa, East Jawa, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, and Papua.
