TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan expected the vacant position of deputy governor could be soon fill in following the resignation of Sandiaga Uno. Anies claimed he was troubled to manage many city`s agenda.

“Hopefully, [the appointment of Jakarta deputy governor] will not take a long time. Why? The answer is simple: we have many events. This is my third agenda today, I’ve gone to two other events this morning,” said the governor at the City Hall, Jakarta, Thursday, September 20.

Anies Baswedan recalled his times with Sandiaga Uno. He claimed to have never worried to attend all agendas because he divided it with the now would-be vice presidential candidate.

Therefore, Anies expected his future companion could easily coordinate the agendas with him and be flexible in exchanging schedules.

“I hope [the future deputy governor] and I will have open communication as I was [with Sandiaga Uno] because we commonly exchanged schedules without asking the reason,” Anies Baswedan added.

Gerindra Party and PKS have not yet submitted candidates of Jakarta deputy governor to the Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) thus far. Gerindra reportedly would carry out Mohamad Taufik, while PKS has recently announced it would support Ahmad Syaikhu and Agung Yulianto.
