Jokowi to Issue Presidential Regulation for Agrarian Reform Soon

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi said the presidential regulation (Perpres) on agrarian reform was almost complete and the preparation had entered the final stage.
“Currently, the Perpres is traveling from one table to another,” said Jokowi when opening the National Consultation of Agrarian Reform and National Forestry Implementation for Social Justice and the 2018 Global Land Forum (GLF) at the State Palace, Jakarta, Thursday, 20 September.
Jokowi ordered the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution to immediately complete it.

In the event, the General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Said Aqil Siradj and 2018 GLF Chief Executive Officer Dewi Kartika, demanded the Perpres.
“I whispered to the Coordinating Minister, that in a week, it must be finished. I must keep monitoring,” he said.
Said told about NU members in the villages who could not work on their land because they are considered to have entered the Perhutani area.
“Through this forum, PBNU proposed that there would be an agrarian reform Perpres,” he said.
