TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) announced that the Child of Krakatoa at the Sunda Strait in South Lampung is still experiencing continuous tremors up until earlier this morning.
Based on a reporting by Windi Cahya Untung, observer from the Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Center (PVMBG), the Child of Krakatoa had shown to produce 3-48 mm amplitude tremors yesterday.
The condition surrounding the Child of Krakatoa was generally clear with minimum clouds and smokes from its crater can barely be seen.

However, earlier in the night a CCTV footage saw fire and lava flowing to the mountain’s southern side. Thumping sounds and shaking grounds were lightly felt at the Child of Krakatoa monitoring post, which is why the mountain was deemed at Level II (alert) warning.
Local residents and tourists alike are urged to avoid traveling within a 2 kilometer radius to the Child of Krakatoa.
