TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former West Nusa Tenggara Governor Zainul Majdi, known as Tuan Guru Bajang (TGB), delivered clarification of alleged state loss in the divestment and sale of shares of PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara to PT Amman Mineral Internasional. TGB is allegedly involved in the case.
“The news touches my integrity and dignity,” said TGB at Penang Bistro, South Jakarta, Wednesday, September 19.
First, TGB explained, the divestment and sale of shares of PT Newmont were done collectively and collegial with three governmental entities; regional administration of NTB and regencies of West Sumbawa and Sumbawa.
“So it is not true [the divestment conducted] by NTB only,” TGB underlined, adding that NTB had 40 percent of shares, West Sumbawa had 40 percent as the mining producing region, and Sumbawa had 20 percent.
With the share formation, TGB added, NTB governor could not apply any strategies if the other two regencies declined it. “We together formed the company since the early process based on the Law on the limited liability company (LLC).”
TGB went on to say that the three regional administration agreed on the sale of 6 percent shares owned by the regional administration based on the consortium of the private party at 24 percent.
He then recalled the profit sharing between the private sector and the regional administrations. According to TGB, the regions had allocated Rp500 million to establish the firm PT DMB which later earned a profit of US$127 million. “At the current exchange rate, it worth Rp1.8 trillion. How it is said as the loss?” he said.
