TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Drivers of online motorcycle taxi (online ojek) joined in Gabungan Aksi Roda Dua (Garda) planned to stage a rally at the Grab office on Wednesday, September 19. Grab Indonesia`s Managing Director Ridzki Kramadibrata said the request of double-digit tariff hike would beset the drivers.
“In my opinion, all people know the demand of double increase rate is too high. We are concerning the drivers and customers,” said Ridzki today in his office, Lippo Kuningan, South Jakarta.

Ridzki considered if the tariff increased, the most disadvantaged party would be the driver because the customer would not call an online ojek service with a high cost. “What if there is no order [of online ojek]?” he said.
Earlier, Garda presidium head Igun Wicaksono announced a total of 50,000 online ojek drivers from Jakarta Greater Area (Jabodetabek) and other regions would attend the demonstration starting from Grab Office in Bendungan Hilir, Central Jakarta to the central office of Grab Indonesia in Lippo Kuningan, Setiabudi, South Jakarta.
According to Ridzki, the tariff hike without algorithm and right calculation would potentially decrease the driver’s income and that Grab drivers did not acknowledge the impact of their demand.
